I'm hitting that phase in my pregnancy where I'm thicker around the middle, but not enough so anyone would dare ask if I was pregnant. My clothes are starting to fit a little weird and mostly I think I just look like I'm getting a little tubby. This is all fine and dandy except I don't hit 12 weeks until Tuesday. People, I am going to be huge! I was barely even showing at all last time at this point. Remember this shot? I think that's a few days before I delivered.
I look at that picture and I can't even believe that's possible. Can I really get that big? Sure can! At least I shrunk back to normal size afterwards. That's every girl's fear and I'm glad it was unfounded for me, with plenty of help from exercise and eating well of course. But I'm pretty sure that besides the fact that I can already tell I'm carrying this one high while I carried Spencer super low, that I will hit this phase long before I am ready to deliver. Ah well. I feel good and I'm almost done with my first trimester, so I'm not really complaining, just marveling. My only real wish is that this time around my face maintains some semblance of being an adult rather than reverting to pimply teenagehood. Here's hoping!

With my second, I grew much faster in the beginning than I did with the first. But somewhere around 15 - 20 weeks, my growth got back onto the same path that it did with my first. I didn't gain any more with the second than with the first. I think our bodies just jump into the pregnancy thing a lot faster the second time around, but if you maintain the same healthy lifestyle, the rapid growing will taper off. So excited for you!
Oh, and are you seeing a dermatologist? With my first, I assumed I couldn't do anything about the pregnancy acne (and it was SO bad), but I had a dermatologist with the second, and he found some safe things for me to do. It really made a world of difference.
And that's the end of my two cents!
I'm the same way Jolena! I was as big this time at 12 weeks as I was at 20 weeks with Andrew and now that I'm 20 weeks I think I'm already as big as I was at 28 weeks. It's horrible, the only thing keeping me positive is that I hear from everyone that everything just happens sooner with the second than the first and I haven't gained much weight, just inches. Good luck! :)
Yep, I was really noticeable in my first trimester this time where I didn't show until well into my second with Averie!
We're opposites on the skin though -- having a boy has been good for mine! Not so much with Averie.
Like everyone else is saying, I felt like I got bigger faster with subsequent babies and then it tapered off dramatically--I think it was the lack of stomach muscles. :-)
But with my third and fourth, it kind of reversed itself--I felt like I got bigger more slowly. And no matter what I did or what I ate, I weighed the EXACT SAME with all my babies before I delivered!
Good grief! I looked at that picture and thought "I don't think she's farther along than I am, but she's awful large!" haha! Good thing I kept reading and realized it was your LAST pregnancy! ha!
It seems a little unkind to talk about growing bigger and then NOT post a current pregnancy pic! Sheesh!!! :) I have showed quicker with my kids and I am generally bigger overall with each of them, but like Rachael, I've been almost EXACTLY the same weight by the end! And, thankfully, at least with my first two, I lost the weight just as easy. Hopefully it will be the same with this third. That's always the scariest part for me as it is hard to imagine ever being skinny again :) It's all for a good cause though!
