Thanksgiving

 It's been a lovely week, a perfect start to the holidays. We started it spray painting pinecones with Grandpa. That was really fun. 

I picked up another plant because hello, there's never enough plants in my life. Lol. 

We hosted Thanksgiving dinner this week. 14 people! I was a little nervous about everyone fitting, but it worked to perfection. We use moved our couch over to the wall and put a table there and everyone fit comfortably! It was so lovely. The food was great. The company better. 

We finished this puzzle while we were finishing up dinner prep. 

I picked up a new duvet cover for a deal. I need new pillowcases for those blue ones since they don't match with the headboard, but otherwise Bill and I continue our love of blue and gray in our new house, lol. 

I finished this very last puzzle from the box of 12 I started a few weeks ago. Bill tried to help me, but while his eyes are WAY better, they aren't quite up for the detail of a puzzle yet, or reading a standard-sized print book. The vision is coming along though. 

What do we do the Saturday after Thanksgiving? Why go cut down a tree of course! We headed up to Strawberry Reservoir and had a great time tromping around looking for the perfect tree. And we totally found it. I love it so much. We brought my Grandma along and we all had a great time. 

We decorated the tree this weekend and put up all the Christmas decorations. Chloe asked me why the second floor wasn't decorate and I replied, "Because we've never had a second floor to decorate! Guess we better start adding to our decorations. 😁 But our first floor is beautiful. 

This little tree is for our 25 days of Christ activity we do every year. It holds all the ornaments in the kit. I love this tradition. 

And the tree all lit up is just the prettiest thing ever. I love how magical it looks.

Last but not least, we stopped by Walmart this weekend for some Santa hats and an ugly Christmas sweater for the bigs' concert next week. Genevieve makes that sweater look entirely too cute. 😍 It's a size XS in women's. The sleeves are long but otherwise it fits perfectly. They're growing too fast! Spencer comes up a bit higher than my chin now and Genevieve is not far behind. 

Puzzles, surgery, kayaks, decorating

I put together a lot of puzzles this week. I had no idea I enjoyed puzzles this much. Genevieve got a big box of puzzles for her birthday earlier this year and we didn't have a spot to do them, so we hadn't broken them out yet and on a whim I decided I wanted to. So far I've put together nearly 10 of the 12 puzzles, hahahaha. It's turning into a very pleasant addiction. :)  

Speaking of things I love, I got two new plants this week. My mom gave me these pots and they were begging to be filled. I found a few more plants I want while I was out looking. Bring on all the beautiful green and clean air and beauty and all the things I love about having my house filled with plants. 

Genevieve is such a great artist and she always draws the cutest things. This is her stuffed animal Pancake. 

And apparently what pancake looks like mad. Hahaha! The forked tongue and blood at the end of the teeth is a pretty great touch. 

This beauty came in the mail this week. My bedroom isn't that big, but just large enough to squeeze this into a corner. I love it so much. 

And it came in absolutely the perfect time because this fine fellow got PRK done on his eyes on Friday and he spent so many hours in that new chair over the weekend. PRK is way more of a recovery than LASIK, which I got about 14 years ago. The weekend was rough! But he's doing a lot better today, thankfully. It'll still be a while before his visions clears up and is crisp, unfortunately, but he's coming along. 

I mounted these on Saturday. It took so much longer than I wanted it to, but I'm very pleased with the results. 

Chloe has hit the phase where she swipes my phone and leaves a million selfies on it. Never stops being cute. 

We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house on Sunday and helped them decorate for Christmas. Next week it'll be our house's turn. 

 

Low key week

We had a pretty low key week. Not a lot happened. The kids did have their primary program yesterday and did a fantastic job. I really love the primary program every year.

Genevieve got a big box of puzzles for her birthday last year and we didn't get them out at the time, but I decided to work on them this last week. There' four 150-piece, four 300-piece, and four 500-piece. I did all the small ones and the first of the 300 ones. It's very relaxing. Here's the 300-piece one. 

My garage is clean and organized! Just need to hang the kayaks and I'll be able to park inside. Yay yay yay! This is actually the first time in our entire marriage we've owned a house with a garage. Or not even owned. All our rentals had carports. I'm so happy to have a legitimate garage.
