End of school and work trip

Last day of school! My kids are so big! Crazy. It blows me away every single year, no matter what.

I spent four days at a conference in San Diego this week. It was at such a nice location. No complaints about spending time there!

We have some family in town and rode TRAX up to Gardner Village. They had a fairy festival that the girls were interested in. I got some cute pictures of all the kids, but just one with only Genevieve, so she gets to be the token kid from the party of five kids, haha! It was fun.
Genevieve got her hair cut. It is adorable.

Summer is here

Aaron had his fifth grade program this week. It was so cute. America themed, so all sorts of folk songs and patriotic numbers. He still had one more year of elementary school, but he’s growing so fast. He’s eating like a horse lately, so I’m pretty sure he’s finally going to start growing. He’s still pretty short, but it seems like he’s got a growth spurt. Or is about to.

We’ve started working on the exercise room in the basement a little more this last week and we moved a bunch of stuff out of the garage that will be down there. That freed up room to move the workbench over into a bigger corner. I love it so much more there. It’s way more usable. I put up a pegboard last night and moved all my tools over. Love it.
We took the girls to the Daybreak Ladybug festival yesterday. It was way too hot. I’m so not into that. I just muscle my way through summer every year. I love spring and fall, but summer gets me. I love winter too. I’d be ok if we just skipped the hot summer temps, lol. I do like the seasonal changes, so I guess I have to deal with summer if I want the other three.

Genevieve melted pretty immediately after we realized it was for way younger kids. Bill took her home and I stayed with Chloe while we did a few more things. She got this cute face painting done.

Last Sunday we had the coolest experience  to cap off our Book of Mormon challenge the youth have been doing all spring, we had a fireside with John Bytheway. I grew up listening to his tapes. Yes, tapes.  It was a blast from the past seeing him in speak to the youth mode. I love his Follow Him podcast.  That’s way more serious.  He was on point with his jokes at this fireside.

The father of one of the leaders in our ward made these incredible laser cut Liahona replicas for each of the youth. Spencer and Genevieve both have one. What a treasure to have forever.

The one good thing about summer is swim season! We have access to four pools in the neighborhood that we can use with our HOA. They are so great! Access to these is one of the things I most looked forward to moving to Daybreak last year. We didn’t get our passes set up in time for swim season last August, but now we have them and it’s so much fun.
Oh and last but not least, our last kid bit the dust on perfect eyesight. 😂 Chloe got fitted for new glasses this week. It was only a matter of time with her genetics. We’re in all phases of vision care now. Three kids in glasses. One in contacts. Bill got PRK a few years ago. I got LASIK a little over 17 years ago. Still going strong with perfect vision! Ha! I’ll take every year I get on that.
