Spring!

Soccer is back on! And we’re all burned after the first games this weekend. Whoops! The weather warmed up and we had a delightful morning of soccer. 

Chloes first French beaded! Her hair is finally thickening up and growing, so all sorts of hairstyles are going on lately. 

I made a Lego bouquet! This vase leaks a bit if you put water in it, so I decided I needed a fake flower fuller of some sort and I found these at some point. I’m a big fan of how they turned out. 

They decided to play like they were old people. It was pretty cute.

New car, new glasses, new plant growth

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Bill played cool dad and made some green German pancakes and green syrup. They were so tasty. I avoid food coloring 99 percent of the time, but it's pretty fun for a holiday.

Chloe wanted to watch Genevieve play the computer and she kept stealing my desk chair. She has a desk chair but apparently it's not as nice as mine. This is quite true, but nonetheless, I need my chair to work, lol. So we made her a little nest with our floor pillows. She was super happy about it. 

Look at that cute new growth on my desk plant! The leaves on the right are also small and new, but I noticed that cute tiny little sprig this week and it makes me so happy. 

Spencer got glasses! He loves them. He's so happy he can see. 

And I present my new car, a 2022 Kia Niro Hybrid. I love it so much! It's burnt orange colored and charcoal inside and just delightful to drive. It gets 46-51 mpg and it's so amazing. I'm really happy with the purchase. 

 

Glasses, weddings, and furniture

We got to go to my cute niece’s wedding this week and it was so fun. Their reception was beautiful and we discovered that our boys and Chloe LOVE to dance! Aaron broke our some break dancing moves I’ve never seen from him in my life. It was crazy and hilarious and impressive all at the same time. 

I have been checking daily for six months at least, waiting for the games console table I wanted to come back in stock. It went out of stock last summer before we had a place to put it, and hasn’t been back since. Tragedy struck a couple weeks ago when they took it off the website altogether. We’ve searched for other options, but never found anything we liked nearly as much. I actually sat down and designed a plan to build one based off of some of the ones I liked but didn’t work for some reason or other. Only problem, I needed to buy a new miter saw, table saw, and drill press to make it well, and that would take a while. So when I was walking through Costco the other day and saw a console I liked pretty well and cost $120 less than the other, I was sold! Bill liked it too and so we went ahead and bought it and I was so pleased to finally get all our games off the floor! I probably still will build the one I designed down the road because this cabinet is completely full to brimming and I can’t be limited in my games purchases by lack of room, lololol. 

So after six months, minus new family photos to fill those empty frames as well as a big one to put over my piano, the living room is finally done!

When we moved into our house we got blinds for all the windows and I love them so much. But we’ve realized that Bill and I cannot sleep in for anything on the rare day that we have time to try because our bedroom just gets too light. So we got these curtains and installed them yesterday and I’m so happy with them! 

And last but not least, another one bites the dust and joins the glasses world. I think they make him look so old! We’ll pick up the final frames tomorrow but this picture was from when I had him try on frames. Bets on how long Aaron and Chloe last before they need glasses? Genevieve got hers at eight. Spencer at 11. I got mine at 10, got Lasik at 24, and now at 39 need computer glasses. Bill got glasses at ten and got PRK last fall at 36. 

 

March fun

Last weekend we went snowshoeing. We've had a pretty dry 2022, so there's not a lot of snow anywhere, but there was just enough to have a good time. We ended up going super late in the afternoon, so we only went for an hour, which was totally fine because it was three of the kids' first time going and they were a little squirrelly about it. But I think it's going to be a fun thing for us to do in winter. Maybe just not with all of them along every time. 

I am so close to done with this temple picture. It is really awesome looking, but I'm struggling to find time to finish this last little bit. Someday I will be done! I really love how it turned out. 

We made this super cool curtained off bed for Aaron so he would have a cool cave after he was using three of those big square pillows to do it. I was so pleased because those leftover curtains from an old house fit so perfectly. He came home from school and hated it and made us take it down and went back to the three pillows. Parent fail! Hahaha! You never can tell what your kids will like. 

I'm ridiculously pleased with my desk setup. I got my monitors and hub and set them up this week. 

I'm particularly tickled with my cord organization, lol. My desk can go up and down from a standing desk to a seated desk, so I needed the words long enough to be able to do that, but not get all tangly. This is with the desk raised and they lift the surge protector off the floor a bit, but it settles down nicely when I lower it, which is how I have it more often. My OCD tendencies just love the order here. 

I got myself a new chair. Oh it is so plush and comfy. The white one goes to the hall desk now at my home computer, which is white, so it matches perfectly. 

It finally snowed a bit last night and today and after church we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's house, where it always snows more than at ours, for some sweet sledding. We had a great time. It was super fun. 

My FiA friends brought me this super tasty Twisted Sugar cookie for a late birthday present. It was delicious! I'll definitely have to go there and try. more of their offerings.
