I haven’t done much hiking this summer. I’ve run, but not as much as normal. I’ve been doing physical therapy for an injury but haven’t really seen it heal yet. So when my friends in run club said should we hike Timpanogas this weekend, I of course said yes! 😁😁😁
It was absolutely worth it. 14.6 miles? Sure, no problem. Actually the whole second half was kind of torturous, but whatever, totally fine. It was so much fun.
Goats! We saw some triplet baby goats in the way. Adorable!
I woke up at 3am, met up with 16 friends, and headed up. We got on the trail at 5:16am. We got done at 1:30pm. I was pleasantly surprised how fast we got to the top. 7.5 miles went shockingly fast. And then it sort of slowed down, ha! The hike back I was so sore. It was so incredibly beautiful. There were still so many wildflowers. The weather was perfect. Unseasonably cool for an August day. I almost forgot to grab a jacket, but went back for it before I left and I’m so glad I did. It was cold at the start! And then cold from the saddle up to the summit. But the rest was just a super pleasant temperature. Clouds rolled in the second half, so it didn’t get hot.
Go us!
And done! It felt so good! I may or may not have walked around hazily crippled the rest of the day, but all worth it. 🤣 I’d do it again.
